Brendan Evo

Over the past few years, we have seen the amount of CT9A Evo 8/9’s increase slowly. Our friend Brendan was one of the first to have the 9’s across the border. He’s had it for a while now and also been through multiple phases of setups, from “hellaflush” to track stance. Brendan is part of the APL Motorsports group who are mostly track enthusiasts. Nicknamed “LB”, he got his first taste of the track this year and it is safe to say he was instantly addicted to the sounds of exhaust blasting and tires squealing.

Brendan also runs ProjectDetail, a backyard detailing company which he started as a hobby. His attention to detail has made him quite a staple in the Vancouver area, so make sure you hit him up for your detail needs!

Living in the PNW, we are lucky to have such a reputable tuner in English Racing within driveable distance. This Evo 9 is tuned by ER with a plethora of ETS goodies such as their intake, 3.5″ front mount intercooler and lower intercooler piping. Brendan opted for the screamer pipe option when he hits full boost, venting out of the Muse O2 dump.

A full turbo-back exhaust features a Megan Racing downpipe, down to a Invidia test-pipe and finally out through a Greddy TI-C catback section, giving it that unique deep 4G63 sound.

There isn’t too much done to this Evo suspension wise, but Brendan has big plans for the geometry of the car in the upcoming year! As for now this beauty is sitting on Fortune Auto 500 series coilovers, with 10k/12k springs, custom aligned for road courses. The Wedsport SA55M’s and meaty 275/35 Star Specs fill the wheel wells.

With so many options to go with aero for the Evo’s, Brendan narrowed it down to Version Select and VIS Racing for his parts. Version Select front bumper, side skirts and VIS Racing front fenders were fit together to give it that menacing mean look. Also you cannot miss the Type 5 style wing hanging out the back! On the inside, we fell in love seating position of driver and passenger. Buddy Club low-down seat rails gave it that connection to the car as you were snuggled by the Bride Zeta III’s.

This car is still in build mode and is far from complete. LB’s spent many of his hours wrenching on his own car while learning and receiving assistance from his friends. He’d like to give a big shout out to his boys over at APL Motorsports!
